Alice Bailey

Alice Ann Bailey (June 16, 1880 – December 15, 1949), the teacher and writer who was one of the original users of the term new age. She was born in Manchester, England as Alice LaTrobe Bateman and in 1907, moved to the United States. She was a prolific writer on theosophical subjects, and from 1919 – 1949, wrote 24 books regarding the esoteric and the paranormal.

She claims these transcripts came to her telepathically from a Master of Wisdom at first known only as The Tibetan, and later identified as Djwal Khul. These writings were on the spiritual nature of the solar system, healing, meditation and other religious themes. The subject matter of these writings were similar to her peer of the time Madame Blavatsky. Alice also had a very clear vision of what she called a unified society with a global “spirit of religion”.
